Abstract
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a significant public health issue globally,
characterized by chronic hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion,
insulin action, or both. Despite advancements in medical diagnostics and public health
initiatives, a substantial proportion of individuals remain unaware of their diabetic
condition. This paper explores the prevalence, contributing factors, consequences, and
potential solutions to the unawareness of T2DM diagnosis.
